Jig fishing for walleye or should I say catching has started ! Limit catches in the shallows off K Can - Turtle Reef- Crane Creek- Just about any where in the shallows. 10 to 14 feet of water caught. Mainly males averaging 2 to 4 lbs in the shallower waters. No barn burner how ever limits were pulled by 10:30 am. Bigger males were caught on or near the reefs. Walleye were being caught today in front of Crane Creek State Park - K Can- Cone Reef- Toussiant Reef - Just about any where it really didn't seem to matter. The annual spawning run on Lake Erie and in the Sandusky and Maumee Rivers is on hold due to cold weather. The Sandusky River enjoyed a few good days of early spring walleye fishing last week as the weather was a bit more stable. Reports were coming in from Anglers Supply in Fremont Ohio. Walleye bite continues slow trolling crank baits behind yellow birds. The slop shoot from Mouse Island to South Bass - Green and Rattle Snake - Clinton Reef to F can is producing nice catches of walleye.
