Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 09.08.12

Dear Anglers, Just a quick update to what has been going on. Fluke fishing remains great with limit or near limit catches with fish to 8 pounds coming into the boat. We still have a few weeks left of fluke fishing as the season will close September 28. If you haven't gotten in on this fishing, don't wait, its about as good as it gets. Bottom fishing for poriges is also very good. The sea bass season is now closed for a few weeks, but will reopen in October. Chumming for bluefish...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 09.06.12

Dear Anglers, Fishing this week has been absolutely unreal. We have seen limit or near limit catches on every trip this week with some big fish showing up. Highlight of the week was on Wednesday when we were able to boat a 12 1/2 pound fluke. That is our largest doormat of the season so far. This has been one of the nest fluke seasons I can remember and there are still a few weeks left. If you would like to get in on the fluke bite, don't wait, as the season closes September 28. On...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 07.16.12

Dear Anglers, Sorry for not sending out any reports for the past week but i was away in Alaska doing some halibut fishing. All i can say is that the fishing was incredible with fish to 300 lbs being caught and the scenery is unbelievable. Now that i am back home we will get right back to fishing. The fluke fishing has been very good this week with many fish between 7 to 9 lbs being caught on bucktails in the deep water. The bluefishing remains good with fish being caught on both bait an...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 06.27.12

Dear Anglers, The fishing has been very good this week with good numbers of fluke and sea bass coming over the rail. Our last few fluke trips have seen limit or near limit catches with to 5 lbs being boxed. We have finished up with the striped bass for the spring and will now concentrate our efforts on bucktailing the deeper water for large fluke as well as bottom fishing. We may also be scheduling some inshore bluefin tuna trips as long as the weather allows us to get out.  We...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 06.22.12

Dear Anglers, Just a quick heads up to what has been going on with the fishing. After a few slow days of bass fishing, the bite has picked up the past few days with fish to 50 lbs being caught. One thing is that the bite only lasts for a few hours early in the morning and a few in the evening. Fluke fishing has been very good for us this past week with fish to 5 lbs coming into the boat and boats limits the past few days. We are catching the fluke bouncing the rough bottom with bucktail...

We are catching all of our fish on live and chunked bunker.  Bottom fishing for sea bass and ling remains very good with limits or near limits on the sea bass being common. We ran our first bucktail fluke trip this past Sunday with great results. We had to deal with a stiff wind out of the east and a nice s...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 06.13.12

Dear Anglers, Bass fishing has been pretty good this past week. Some days have been better than others, but we are still live lining and chunking fish to the mid 40 lbs. Bluefish provide plenty of action and we have even been hooking up a few thresher sharks this past week. We will continue to sail for striped bass through the end of the month and have a few dates available. If you have not gotten in on the bass action this spring, now is your chance to catch a real trophy fish. Also fl...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 05.22.12

Dear Anglers, Just a quick update to what has been going on. On Friday we competed in the FCA Manhattan Cup which is a benefit tournament for the wounded warrior foundation. It was a great day for a great cause. We opted to fish local in order to have more time to fish and were rewarded with 4 bass to 33 lbs. Saturday morning we headed back down the beach to where we have been fishing and were able to land 7 bass to 35 lbs on live bunker. Saturday afternoon was our best trip of the year...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 05.16.12

Dear anglers, Just a quick heads up to whats been going on with the fishing. Now that we are off the moon we have seen some bigger fish show up. We fished down the beach this past weekend and saw some bigger fish up to the mid 40's hooked up but unfortunately we were unable to land them. I heard of several 40's, and a few fifty pound fish weighed in over the weekend with the biggest tipping a scale at 57 lbs.  There are also more fish moving into the bay this past week with...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 05.07.12

Dear Anglers, Just a quick update to what went on this past weekend. On Saturday morning we headed out and managed to land 3 keeper bass to 15 lbs along with a ton of bluefish. Saturday afternoon we were unfortunate to land a bass but had steady action with blues bending the rods all night. Sunday morning we made our bait and headed a different direction. Drifting live bunker, the guys managed to land 7 bass out of 20 bites to 31 lbs.  Now that we are coming off this "supe...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 04.30.12

Dear Anglers, Just a quick update to whats been going with the fishing this past weekend. Saturday morning we had a good trip with the guys landing 6 keepers to 18 lbs and around 50 bluefish. Saturday afternoon was a bit slower with the bass only managing 3 keeepers and well over 100 blues. Sunday was a great day with action but again the blues definately out numbered the bass. The good news is that there is a huge body of bass just to the south of us, and we will begin running to those...

Dear Anglers, Just a quick update. We have been fishing almost everyday and the striped bass run is off to a great start and will only get better. We are already catching fish to almost 30 lbs on live and chunked bunker. As we all know there is nothing more exciting than watching a big bass crash a bait on the surface. We are also catching some fish on jigs certain trips when we see them working the bait schools. I don't ever remember seeing so much bait in the bay this early...

Dear Anglers, The bass fishing was very good this past week for how early in the season it is. On Wednesday we managed to limit out with 8 fish releasing another keeper and a bunch of shorts. Friday was also good as we boxed 5 keepers to 18 lbs along with 19 shorts. Saturday was a little tougher with a hard east wind but the guys hung in there and put 4 keepers and a few shorts in the boat. There are more and more fish moving into the bay each day along with more bait. The water temp is...

Sandy Hook Bay Fishing Report 02.27.12

Dear Anglers, Just a quick heads up. With the warmer than normal temps, I plan to start working on the boat this week and will hopefully have it in around the third or fourth week of March. We will be sailing for bass and bottom fish as soon as we splash. Believe it or not, guys are still catching short and keeper stripers from the surf. The water temp is alot warmer than last year and with a few warm days it should be starting early this year. I am currently booking trips for this upco...

Atlantic Ocean Fishing Report 02.15.12

Dear Anglers, Even though we are still fishing this time of year, its getting to be that time to think about the spring striper run. Guys are still catching some short and keeper bass off the beach. With the mild temps and above normal ocean temperature it looks like the bass run may start a little earlier than normal. We plan on having the boat back in the water the first week of April, but if the weather holds we may be in a week or two earlier. We will be running a spring special...
