Description:
The public fishing Trout Ponds are located on Hwy#6, I km north of the town of Durham, on the west side of the road. Fire#313706. Look for the sign PUBLIC FISHING. OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK. Hours: 8 AM to 8 PM. No limit, no license required and no season.
Our ponds are stocked with naturally fed brook,brown and rainbow trout.
Rainbow trout are available on an ongoing basis, brook and brown trout when available.
The entrance fee or admission is $5.00 per fishing pole brought into the facility.
Rainbow trout are $7.00 per fish, Brown when available $10.00 per fish. Most fish are 12" or bigger. This is a catch and keep facility.

Wilmer Trout Ponds Fishing Report 08.21.12
The rainbow trout are biting again at Wilmer Trout Ponds, 313706 Hwy#6, Durham, Ontario. N0G1R0. The trout seem to be biting on the worm, as well as 1" to 2" silver spoons. The cooler nights are making the fish more active, and because the trout are not pellet fed, they will be looking for more food as the weeks progress, making it better fishing for our customers.

The hot summer is coming to a decline. Therefore the rainbow and brown trout will be more active, and will come out of their hiding spots deep within the ponds. The cool nights will also change the temperature of the water, making it much cooler, and therefore the fish becoming more active. Also, as the month progresses, the insect activity will decrease, making the trout much easier to catch.

The hot weather has dampened the fish biting at the pond site. Thats not to say that you cannot catch a rainbow or a brown trout, because some of our anglers are having good success. You just have to pick the right time of the day, and try and figure out at what depth the fish are most comfortable in during the hot weather. If you want a challenge, come and try your luck....
