Whiting River

Is one of the Watershed East of Alaska Boundary
south and east of the Chilkoot Pass.

The Boundary Ranges Ecosection - BOR - is found in the Northern Coastal Mountains Ecoregion. The BOR is characterised by rugged, largely ice-capped mountains of the Coast Plutonic Complex (granitic), dissected by several large, low elevation river valleys (Taku, Whiting, Stikine, Iskut, Unuk) with wide, braided channels and extensive floodplains. Most of the ecosection is undeveloped with the river corridors accessible by boat There is limited road development, lots of mining activity. There are no permanent settlements in this ecosection, however tourists and the local people from communities such as Telegraph Creek, Iskut, Atlin, Juneau and Wrangell use the area.
