FISHING The South Fork of the Snake River is one of the premier dry-fly fisheries in North America, and the native cutthroat trout as well as rainbows and browns are abundant. Expert guides and outfitters can be booked to assist you in your pursuit of trophy catches. In addition to the South Fork, anglers can venture into the surrounding terrain to fish some of the creeks and still waters.
Other activities are HORSEBACK RIDING,RAFTING TRIPS, HIKING , SHOPPING, Off-road trails offer mountain bikers lots of fun. These are just a few of the many things to keep you busy at this beautiful location.

Snake River Fishing Report 07.10.12
The South Fork has been fishing great! They are starting to drop the flows which is great! The fish are finally starting to look up for those big dries! Throwing a Chubby with a small Pheasant tail nymph below has been working really well. Fish the riffles and drops, they are the best bet right now to get fish. Come stop by the lodge fly shop on your way out and get some bugs! Good Luck!...

The South Fork has been fishing pretty well lately, mostly throwing Golden Stone Patterns with a small green copper john as a dropper. If fish are rising, throwing some Blue WIng Olives will get fish. Flows are rocking at 10,100 cfs and water is clear. Come stop by the shop and grab some bugs on your way out to the river! Cheers!

The South Fork is continuing to fish well. The bureau of rec. has dropped the flows down to 9995 cfs. Some dry flies in the canyon but nymphing and streamer's are still your best bet.

The river is fishing well now! This year is not like the last three. We have had a mild winter. Runoff has been slow and low. The river is gin clear coming out of Palisades Dam. It's May 11th and the South Fork Is fishing gooood. Our flows as of today are 10,400 csf. The water is gin clear and peak run off is over. Nymphing the banks and riffles are best throwing san juans and stoneflys and midge or pmd nymphs. Some dry fly action, just have to be in the right place at the right time. Streamer fishing can be good as well, throw either a white or olive/black bug.

The river is flowing at 11,900 cfs and the rainbows are the move. The dam is fishing well with shrimp and eggs. Nymphing the upper section with eggs and San juan has been productive. Target the inside seams and slower tail out water. Streamer have been good as well, try using white and a slow retrieve.

Fishing on the south fork has been great. The flows have been hovering right around 6300 hundred cfs. White, and black n olive streamers are working best. Target tail outs and some of the slower pools. The water is still pretty cold and fish seem to be hanging out in their winter holding areas. Water flow on the South Fork of the Snake River in Swan Valley currently is at 5,470 cfs and conditions have been excellent as a bit of spring has been in the air for the past few days with light rain and temperatures in the high 30s to low 40s.
