We have been fighting some glacier silt but things are looking up as our night time temps at 7000 ft are to lower enough to provide some of those awesome fish catching days. The river has been out for days and I have had to reschedule many customers trips as I want the best catching chances for you. The weather is cooling off a bit and I should be back on the water in a few days. Today Levi and I did a double boater with a glacier blue-green foot of visibility. We only ended up with a nice hatchery per boat, I had one big Steelhead that took like a freight train only to surface and spit the hook, going to have a bum day now and then, hope to put the then's behind me and jump up to some big fish number days, it will happen. Pulled off a trip yesterday before the wall of milky water came.  We had a cloud burst on the glacier so we were fishing not so great conditions as the river was clouding up as we fished, within five minutes of putting this nice fish to the boat the wall of milky water came putting the river to 3" visibility.   Had to cancel today's trip. Have the next three days open 5th 6th 7th also open on July 9th 17th 19th 20th, have lots of days open with Ben and Levi....

WOW, The river is dropping slow but still running way higher than normal for the 15th of June.  With a day like today I can live with 2440 C.F.S. flows. Today we hooked 8 and were able to keep 4 hatchery Steelhead, lost a monster King. Yesterday only put 2 to the boat, day before yesterday had a couple young lads and there father, always fun to see the youth fighting fish and that they did see there pics. The Klickitat is and has been running above average flows for the first week of June, I did fish last weekend on 3450 c.f.s. with only some nice trout and one released native Steelhead, even with above normal flows the family I took had a great time. Average flow for the first week of June is 2300 c.f.s.. March was in like a Lion and out like a Lion. Last night we had some incredible cloud burst bringing the Klickitat to flows we have not seen for a many years.  My small island is underwater.  Its good to give the river a little face lift, looking forward to having some new slots to fish. Today was Ron from Idaho's second day of fishing with me. I asked Ron instead of hiking into the White Salmon canyon if he would like to go fishing for White fish on the Klickitat, he said that sounds like fun so we slipped the boat in upstream and floated back to our home base. The Klickitat river is open December 1st through March for White Fish only, you must use a single size 14 hook or smaller. In the event you hook a Steelhead it must be released as it is not open to keep Steelhead. Sure...
