SPRING FISHING STARTS UP IN HOPEDALE LA.
Yesterday Gary Stewart and Mike Naylor started off their fishing season off with a bang. The weather was beautiful all ,morning light breeze just enough to keep the bugs off. We started right off with some school trout under some birds to get us going. The bigger trout were on the shorelines and points with moving water. Chartreuse plastic and live minnows did the trick. The bite was not fast and you had to stay on the move but the guy’s h...

Yesterday I fished with Aysha and Rodney from Little Rock Arkansas. They were in New Orleans and wanted to make a day fishing. Things started off slow but later in the morning we found some redfish eager to take our baits, dead shrimp under corks along the shorelines and points. The bite was not fast and we had to work at it but the limit of reds and some drum found their way into the box. Beautiful weather and great day fishing with some good people who will be coming back.

Guys,
With unseasonably warm temperatures we are taking advantage of large schools of redfish. Look for these fish to hold in their normal patterns throughout mid March. We are seeing on average 30-75 fish a day with shots at 5-20 fish in the 10-30lb range. This fishing has been done on the Gulf fringe in 6" -2' of water with a variety of flies and lures. Also with these warm temps our springtime grass bloom will be happening earlier than normal that will kick off th...
