Pine Isalnd Sound, Charlotte Harbor, Estero Bay, Sanibel, Ft. Myers, Naples Report: Good action on the reds and especially on the snook throughout our area. Bigger fish are the rule with overslot reds available for a real light tackle tug-of-war. Fish fries are not impossible when the reds and trout cooperate. Tue, Jun 23, 2009 - Capt. Ron Kowalyk Backbay Fishing Estero Bay, Pine Island, Charlotte Harbor, Ten Thousand Islands, Ft. Myers, NaplesGood early morninmg and late afternoon bites with redfish, snook and trout all on a chew. Fly guys did well and had shots at snook and Spanish mackerel off the beaches. Boca Grande, Fl 15 April 2009 Conditions have improved dramatically in our area this week. Although a weak cold front came through yesterday the effect was mitigated by a warm sun and lighter winds. Snook fishing is very good now and tarpon fishing is beginning to improve. Consistent tides adn weather are making for good catches all over the area. Boca Grande, Fl. 6 April 2009 Tarpon are here. Not in great numbers, but they are showing all around Boca Grande and Pine Island Sound. Strong winds have made catching them tough. Charlotte Harbor, Fl.Boca Grande, Fl Report 23 March 09 Fishing this week has been rated good. Best catches are seatrout and snook. Redfish have been elusive but seem to be getting better. Tarpon are beginning to show up more each day. Snook are biting best on the higher tides of the afternoon around mangroves that have a deeper edge. All that we have taken have come to a Puglisi pattern or the Estaz marabou. Most of the redfish we fished for were very spooky and did not come to the fly well....

Boca Grande Report 23 Feb. 2009 Fishing has been rated good this week in Charlotte Harbor. Anglers fishing with me caught snook, redfish, seatrout, bluefish, pompano and ladyfish. Most fish came to a variety of flies including Puglisi patterns, Clouser Deep minnows and Estaz Marabou flies. The lures we used included DOA Cal jigs, cotee jigs, Rip Tide and Exude swim baits and Johnson Sprite spoons.
