It looks like the rainy season has set in on the Treasure Coast. We have had lots of showers around the area lately and the plants are turning green again. Look for chances of afternoon rains now and watch the weather out on the water. We dodged a lot of rain clouds recently, but haven't gotten too wet yet. Last weekend was awesome fishing! Awesome for sure! The radio chatter was all about dolphin with reports of 3-4 per boat, but they had to fish through all the sail fish. Bottom fishing is the best in years , Ft. Pierce Lady has had excellent action on the bottom reporting grouper, mangroves, and as many sea bass as you can reel up. We began our day on one of my secret spots out in the deep water where less traffic makes for better fishing. In no time at all a nice gag gouper was in the box and was shortly followed by several amberjack and two more gags up to 36 lbs. I got the Hatteras back from the boatyard. We had the bottom painted and waxed the hull.
We went fishing with the Davis family for a half day on 8/22/10. The was no live bait to be had so we started trolling ballyhoo and a split tail on the wire for a wahoo. We caught three bonita and found a nice edge in 160' with a temperture change and weed in it.

WE HAD A GREAT TIME WITH OUR CHARTER . THEY CAUGHT AND RELEASED 2 SAILS. WE HAD 6 SAIL HITS WITH ONLY THE 2 HOOK-UPS'
I SAY ONLY 2 BUT THEY WERE VERY IMPRESSIVE,BECAUSE THE ANGLERS WERE 90 YEARS OF AGE. THAT WAS SOMETHING TO SEE.THE COMPLETED A CATCH OF 10 DOLFIN, WITH HELP OF FAMILY MEMBERS.. THEY WILL BE BACK NEXT MONTH TO TRY FOR MORE SAILS.

More of the same today as yesterday. 2 sailfish 10dolphins . The dolphin were in th 12 to 20 lb. wt. range. Some bonita & 2 small sharks.

We caught and released two sailfish ( one was a 5.5' footer) and missed four other sails. We also caught ten dolphin in the ten to twenty pound range. Also bities from several sharks and bonita.

Typical winter weather patterns allowed for a few days to fish and the rest of the week was windy, wet and wild. Lots of rain the past couple of days have made it challenging for anglers to try and get out. Looks like the rain might end by Saturday, but we will just wait and see how it turns out. There will be lots of fresh water pouring into the river for the next several days. You can bet the water is pretty dirty for now as well.

We fished a half day on Thursday in the Dusky to the North in about 120' to 150' .
We pulled the hook on couple of singles( sailfish ) . We did boat a nice wahoo about 40 # and a 20# dolphin. Lots of bait around the weeds. There is a good body of sailfish to the North so this front should push them down to our area soon.

Another great day fishing aboard the INFINITY. We started the day with 6 foot seas and a strong wind. our first bite came with the hook-up of a 45 lb. + sailfish. After that bite we caugth a 20 lb. dolphin followed by 8 blackfin tuna and 6 more dolphin in the 12 to 16 lb. + range.while we were into the blackfin tuna we also caught 4 skipjacks.

Last trip was great, targeted blackfin tuna 4 differant days and caught an average of 25 to 35 blackfin tuna.
On one of the days did some bottom fishing and that was also very good fishing. Caught vermillon snapper, as well as other snapper , black sea bass ,trigger fish and more.
Fished again on 11/4/0999 and 11/13 09 and again this week one day.
