I left out that we caught one nice tripletail after missing a big one. Tripletails are great fighting fish and provide excellent white meat. Let me remind you that it was hotter than blue bl...

Pacific Ocean Fishing Report 06.26.09

THE IXTAPA-ZIHUATANEJO FISH REPORT - THE INDEPENDENT SPORTFISHING FLEET According to Captain Temo Verboonen, the beginning of the week was all bad weather and the port was closed for two days. The roosterfish bite remains "hot" at Pantla Beach and the sailfish are still within two miles of the beach, along with some big dorados. The water, however, is starting to discolor from the rains and run-off and things could change rapidly. It was another week of very slow going for the charter bo...

Laguna Madre Bay Fishing Report 06.25.09

Captain Dennis Miller - Laguna Madre Report: Wind has been moderate to windy for the past several weeks. Water clarity to the windward side of most waterways has been fairly clear while waters on the leeward side of most waterways has been cloudy. Speckled trout have been biting fairly consistently with free-lined croakers being the main live bait. Search for sandy bottoms among grass in 3 to 5 ft. of water as trout will hide to 'ambush' its prey. Stealth is important in shallow water. Drif...

We had trips Friday and Saturday on Father‘s Day weekend. Friday was with our good customer Jon (frequent flyer) and Saturday was with the Muniz group. Jon had orders from his boss (wife) to bring home fish since they had a Father’s Day gathering on Sunday. He wanted Dolphin or Tuna. OK! Hopefully the fish got th...

Atlantic Ocean (FL) Fishing Report 06.25.09

June 12 I would like to start out this fishing report by saying that there is nothing I enjoy more than writing about a great day of deep sea fishing. But the key word here is fishing. This is my back yard we fish in and I am very good at what I do as far as where to fish and what to do but the bottom line is the fish do have the final say so as to what and how many we catch. And today we’ve got Greg and his son Trapper on board for a full day of fishing. And yesterday Trapper was...

Colorado River Fishing Report 06.24.09

Tue, Jun 23, 2009 - Barry Simmers /Colorado Fishing Guides This is a safety tip for all you anglers out there . There was a fisherman lost on the Colorado River north of Vail this past weekend due to sheer stupidity , he fell out of the boat .
