Mosquito Lagoon Fishing Report 04.22.13
Redfish Pounding Bait
Fishing has been ONNNNN fire for the most part with only one day not as good due to a low coming through. The water level in the mosquito lagoon has raised a bit spreading the playing field giving you more options. We have been covering ground with shrimp hooked Capt. Joe style casting to redfish and trout in the white holes on the grass flats. Big schools of redfish are still happy to take anything you toss at them when they are ready to eat. Over slot r...

Stillhouse Hollow Lake Fishing Report 04.22.13
The lake is currently 6.90 feet low and for the most part clear, with stained water found up closer to the bridge. The water temperature is holding between 65 and 68 degrees. Most of the fish have spawned, but there are a few big one still out there and being caught. Look for fish holding on the deep side of points or tight to cover in 12 to 15 feet of water. While a few are being taken on lipless crankbaits the more productive bait seems to be a Texas Rigged 8” U-Tail Worm, (Watermel...
Belton Lake Fishing Report 04.22.13
As with all Area lakes, Belton Lake is also low. Currently the lake is 7.61 feet low. The lake for the most part is stained and the temperature is between 67 to 69 degrees. The spawn on Belton also seems to be in the late stages with most of the fish having already spawned. The backs of coves are full of shad and a few Largemouth are being taken on lipless crankbaits there, but most have moved back into deeper water. Fishing the deep ends of points or drop-offs next to spawning flats is pro...

Mosquito Lagoon Fishing Report
It’s a casting platform. It’s a seat. It’s a dry box. It’s my new Yeti.
The seatrout fishing was on fire this week.
Ordinarily my feeling is that lure color is way more important to the fisherman than to the fish. Sometimes though, the fish just completely shatter than notion.
On Sunday Rick Schooler and his friend Dave joined me for a full day’s fishing on Mosquito Lagoon. Rick was throwing a 5.5 i...

The bite through the day can be hit and miss. Jigs should continue t...

LAKE SEMINOLE IS DOWN .6 FEET, STAINED & 63 DEGREES
Bass fishing is good. Use Zara Spook Jr. shad top water lures and Storm jerk baits lake wide. Bomber crank baits in baby bass, shad and fire tiger colors cast to the banks will get lots of action. Richard B. Russell Lake Fishing Report 04.19.13

Trick worms on the banks and any wood will get a bite and color is not importa...

THE IXTAPA-ZIHUATANEJO FISHING REPORT FOR THE INDEPENDENT SPORTFISHING FLEET
Early in the week, according to Captain Temo Verboonen, the sailfish moved in close to the coastline and provided an excellent few days of hot-bite action for the anglers. Then, almost as if someone had thrown the switch, the water turned green all over the area and the bite dwindled with each passing day as the bite fell off. Still, Temo said the skippers were getting a few strikes everyday but no...

Sea of Cortez Fishing Report 04.19.13
THE CABO SAN LUCAS FISHING REPORT FOR THE GAVIOTA SPORTFISHING FLEET AND FISH CABO FLEET
The water temperatures have been falling by the day and the rollover has had an enormous effect on the fish bite from Cabo San Lucas to Las Frailes. It appears that the Pacific influence has pushed southerly, wrapping Cabo San Lucas and rolling into the Sea of Cortez, diminishing the water temps in all locations and hampering the good fishing that had been taking place. The overall fish...

Spring River Fishing Report 04.18.13
The water level on the Spring River is a fishable. This is a great place to wade fish when they are running water on the White and Norfork Rivers. Canoe season has not begun and the few boaters still around should not prove to be a problem. The hot spot is the Dam Three Access. Be sure to wear cleated boots and carry a wading staff. There is a lot of bedrock that can get very slick. The hot flies have been olive woolly buggers with a bit of flash, cerise and hot pink San Juan worms and Y2Ks...
Dry Run Creek Fishing Report 04.18.13
Dry Run Creek has fished well. Spring break is mostly over and the stream is not too crowded. Now is a good time to fish there. The hot flies have been sowbugs and various colored San Juan worms (worm brown, red, hot fluorescent pink and cerise). Small orange or peach eggs have been very effective. Use at least 4X tippet to increase your chances of landing these big fish. Carefully handle and release all trout. Take the biggest net that you can lay your hands on. Some of these fish are huge...
Norfork Lake Fishing Report 04.18.13
There has been wadable water on the Norfork most days. The action has picked up somewhat and it has been a bit less crowded with more wadable water on the White. There has also been a sparse hatch of very small mayflies; reliable hatches of midges (try a size 22 parachute...
