Stable weather and calm seas this past 6 days gave way to some of the best action we have seen this year. I rate the fishing action off the shores of Two Rivers, WI as good. Surface water temperatures are climbing daily from 45-48 degrees last week to 51-53 degrees as of today 6/11/13. Near shore Atlantic –The summer time near shore fishery of the Sebastian area is our best chance of the year to catch fish weighing in the double and sometime triple digits. Large migrating tarpon, smoker kings, bonito, barracuda, cobia, dolphin, and even sailfish are possible within small boat range of the inlet. Sebastian Inlet –This is the time to take advantage of the inlet. Indian River Lagoon –Snook are again center stage in Sebastian’s inshore fishing. This is partially due to the fact that the flats fishing for trout and reds is marginal at best due to a lack of grass beds, but also because so many big snook are hanging around docks and other shoreline structure. Sebastian River – The top of the list in the Sebastian River in July is tarpon.  The larger juvenile tarpon (15-50lb) move over to the deeper canalized section of the north fork. As other migratory tarpon arrive in the Sebastian area, they also find their way into the north fork. Went Night Fishing with my friend Anthony. It was about 10:30 at Night. I was using a Jerkbait for Bass while Anthony was using a Pink Jighead with a White Grubtail for Sunfish. After about 10 Minutes, I hookup on a small Largemouth Bass. I casted under a Weedbed and he hit it from under. FIshing has been off to a great start this month. There have still been quite a few mahi mahi around in tight between 100-500 feet of water. We had a big weather system move in on us for a few days but once it was gone we were met with a pretty blue edge which was holding not only the previously mentioned mahi mahi but some blackfin tunas and quite a few sailfish.
