Trout   Fly Fishing option for July are great. Big Bull trout on the famous upper Pitt, plus fantastic stillwater fly fishing for Rainbow trout on wilderness lakes! We only use our own custom tied flies!

Salmon opening announced for Fraser river: Starting July 28 Chinook(King salmon) retention is allowed for all sizes above 30cm. We recommend booking for July 28- October 7 for Chinook salmon guided fishing. The Chilliwack river will open July 1 for walk and wade trips for Chinooks with retention of 1 fish allowed and mid July is peak time for summer run fish. Sockeye salmon are also abundant on this river for catch and release.
Sturgeon Fishing  Finally the Fraser river has started to drop and the rest of the season will see the river continue to drop creating some great fishing opportunities. Sturgeon fishing continues to be consistently good for us this summer with lots of 6-7 footers! The highwater months of June-July are not commonly known as peak times but do produce good fish like this one June 16!  Our success rate this summer is 100%.

Guided Fly Fishing for Trout:  early July should be good on the famous upper Pitt river  producing good fly fishing for Bull trout averaging 2-3 lbs with 10lb+ available, this is world class fishing on a remote like river where only jetboats or heli's can access. Silversides has over 2 decades of fly fishing experience on local waters. Bull and Rainbow trout fly fishing is still a good option on a few rivers around Vancouver. Our expertise with Bull's will ensure you a great experience on our most scenic rivers in the area!  Wilderness Lakes Fly Fishing: Rainbow trout are plentiful from May to July and this springs conditions are producing great fishing! Hatches are strong and so is the feeding. The lakes we fish are typically smaller(5-10ha) but hold trout up to 8 lbs and we fish them from belly boats.  There are many lakes we fish, some are 4x4 to the shore and some require a short hike-in. Shore lunches with fresh trout are enjoyed often. Walk and wade or wilderness lake trips come with free hotel service and that really helps make your trip enjoyable and rewarding.

Fraser River Guided Sturgeon Fishing Trips:  Sturgeon fishing since June has been nothing short of excellent! with plenty of big fish being hooked. It's hard to beat the fun of battling a prehistoric fish with the explosive power of a Marlin and the stamina of a Bull. Sturgeon fishing is a thrill for those wanting a true sportfish experience but is not for children. Sturgeon are available March until December, peak times are later June to mid November where giant monster size fish are available, book your trophy Sturgeon fishing trip soon as dates fill up quickly. Average size fish is around 5-6 feet with some beasts up to 1,000 lbs! Complaints of sore arms are common but so are smiles and laughter!! A client last year who fishes a lot down in Mexico for Marlin and has taken huge Black Marlin to 600lbs, had complimented our Fraser river Sturgeon as one of the best fighting fish he has ever encountered!  Our success is based on years of experience and a pride driven passion to perform at peak levels. Upper Pitt River - world famous guided Fly Fishing and wilderness adventure!

  The upper Pitt river is world famous for many reasons, but a big one is that within 2 hrs of downtown Vancouver you are swinging our custom tied flies on a remote river teaming with big Bull trout and Salmon!  Up here you'll also be witness to stunning scenery and the river valley is home to all kinds of wildlife such as Bear, Elk, Wolves and Deer. Silversides guides here and our fly fishing excellence is key to your success on this gem of a wild river. Bull trout season starts late May and is good until about early July, Salmon are available July-October weather permitting. The upper Pitt is accesible only by jet boat or helicopter. Fraser River Guided Salmon Fishing Trips :  Chinooks are the first to arrive in the Fraser starting in March.  Our Fraser river Chinook salmon fishing trips will likely start in later July when restrictions should be lifted on Chinook size retention. If an earlier opening happens we will post it ASAP here and on the Facebook page. Chinook salmon guided trips produce very well from mid August right through until early October with fish averaging 20-25 lbs and encounters with 50lb+ always possible. We recommend booking early to secure your prime dates.

 Sockeye salmon is usually open in August sometime depending on run size. Stay tuned for openings as they are usually announced last minute.

Pink salmon are only in odd numbered years.  Run sizes are absolutely huge! It's quite common to see 15-25 million fish return in a 6 week window. Light tackle and fly fishing is the methods we use. You will catch more fish in a day than you ever thought possible making this a tremendously fun trip that even kids can participate in!

  Chum are available from early October to late November and are rather easy to get on jigs or fly. Our ability to target Chum successfully by fly fishing is something you should consider when booking a fly fishing vacation in the fall months.

Coho salmon  are best from Oct 1-Nov 7. Once again our 2 decades of fly fishing experience will put you in the right water with the right fly and equipment. Coho are taken by our custom tied flies or home made spinners or jigs. These fish average about 8 lbs but will go up to 20lbs.
