He has been fishing Sarasota Bay, Tampa Bay and Charlotte Harbor as a guide since 1990 out of his state of the art Action Craft flats skiff with no more than 2 anglers at a time. He is also an Orvis-Endorsed fly fishing guide at CBs Saltwater Outfitters in Sarasota, FL and an instructor in their Orvis-Endorsed fly fishing schools. A Federation of Fly Fishers Certified fly casting instructor, Capt. Rick offers private fly casting instruction and instructional fly fishing trips.
Capt. Rick targets snook, redfish, trout and more in shallow water. Fly fishing for snook at night and large tarpon averaging 80 or 90-pounds and as large as 150-pounds from mid May through mid July are exciting options. Fishing the coastal gulf waters in the spring and fall for little tunny (false albacore), Spanish mackerel, cobia and tripletail offer excellent sight fishing opportunities.

Capt. Rick Grassett, owner of Snook Fin-Addict Guide Service, Inc., is a full time fishing guide and outdoor writer based in Sarasota, FL. He has been guiding since 1990 and is an Orvis Endorsed Outfitter fly fishing guide at Saltwater Outfitters in Sarasota.
Specializing in fishing with flies and lures on light spinning tackle, Capt. Rick fishes the bays, back country and coastal gulf waters from Tampa Bay to Charlotte Harbor in his 18â Action Craft flats boat. He prides himself in providing you with the best quality tackle and equipment. Capt. Rick uses Shimano spinning tackle and Orvis fly tackle on his boat. He is also a Federation of Fly Fishers certified fly casting instructor and offers private instruction and instructional fishing trips.
He has been involved with fishery conservation for more than ten years. A board member of the Sarasota Chapter of Coastal Conservation Association-Florida, Capt. Rick was also a past chapter president.
