Atlantic Ocean (FL) Fishing Report 03.05.12

Weak cool fronts and wind yes March is here. Wind can be a pest at times, the bright side is the spring mullet run is just around the corner. The inter coastal water and rivers are producing plenty of snook action for anglers. Mangrove shorelines probed with live baits, jigs or top water spooks entice snook explosions. Bigger snook are being caught on edges of flats and near structure were current is swift and bait is plentiful. The full moon coming up will make for stellar sight fishi...

Jupiter Sound Fishing Report 02.27.12

March is here, marking the beginning of spring break. March is also know as the windy month. High winds prevail as warm tropical air pushes from the east and south east. The fun in the sun begins and spring season is on the horizon. Snook action continues to thrive near docks and seawalls, bigger fish are lurking in shadow lines ambushing baits that pass there vicinity. Low lying docks are producing best bite, look for baits in the area as to clues to were snook might be. Top Heddon spo...

Loxahatchee River Fishing Report 02.13.12

Sunny days, rainy days, and to top it off a cold front finally advances to our local are. The weather has been phenomenal for us south Florida residents this winter. I guess a few bad weather days should not make us frown. Snook season is open and the spill ways have opened as well. Snook are thick in canals and local spillways taking live and artificial baits. Snook are very active early morning and during evening taking top water lures with a vengeance. Heavy leader, stiff rod and yo...

Atlantic Ocean (FL) Fishing Report 10.18.11

Snook fishing at night has been outstanding and provides anglers with big fish. Live baits or lures worked along shadow line of lights, draws many explosive strikes. The fish are schooling and feed on both sides of the tides, moving water is a must.     Juvenile tarpon are abundant in back bays and canals but the big 50 to 80 pound tarpon are all inside the inlets and deep channels. Nigh fishing has been the most productive, crank baits, jigs and live baits all provoke strikes....
