Gulf Breeze Guide Service specializes in fly fishing the waters of the Gulf of Mexico around Pensacola, Florida. The area is known as Florida’s Emerald Coast because of our sugar-white sandy beaches and emerald green waters. In addition to the gulf, we fish the diverse waters of Pensacola Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway targeting over fifteen resident and migratory species including redfish, pompano, false albacore, speckled trout, jack crevalle and tarpon. We have fished these waters for over 30 years and put this experience to work guiding our anglers to success.

In addition to fly fishing we offer light tackle and inshore/nearshore bottom fishing. Our photo gallery showcases the quality of fish we find close to shore in calm water. For those anglers wanting to take fish home, we have arrangements with two excellent Gulf Breeze restaurants that will prepare your “fresh catch” after our day on the water. If you prefer we can arrange for a private chef to prepare your catch in the comfort of your home or condo.

Our goal is for every guest to have a fabulous experience on the Emerald Coast. We are happy to assist with lodging, transportation, dining, and non-fishing related activities.

We fish 1-3 anglers from either a 21’ Classic Mako center-console “bay boat” or an 18’ Hewes Redfisher flats skiff.

This is Captain Basil Yelverton (Capt. Baz), and it will be my pleasure to be your guide. First and foremost it is my goal to provide our anglers a safe, comfortable, and memorable day on the water. I grew up here and have fished these waters for over thirty years. This experience helps me decide where to go and what species to target based on wind and tidal conditions. I am always looking for comfortable, calm water fishing opportunities, and they are generally plentiful. It’s just hard to beat catching big fish in relatively flat water.

The bottom line is that I love the waters we fish and take great pleasure introducing our visiting anglers to them. We have a little something to offer everyone here, and I enjoy guiding our anglers to the fishing adventure that’s right for them.
