Cook Inlet Fishing Report 03.23.10

Well another great winter king salmon tournament March 20th Homer Alaska held an awesome derby with a 38lb winter king taking first place. The tournament had around 865 people that participated in it with 259 boats. Each person had to pay $100.00 for the entry fee and if you wanted any side bets that was extra. That is the easy part putting the boat back on the trailer thru the ice is the fun part they have found it to be rewarding at times with some nice fishing...

Most of the boats that have been making it out have been picking up 1 or 2 fish per person with the limit being 2 per day per person. The methods that they have been using is trolling with small herring and flashers on a down rigger. The weather has been great so that is a key fac...
