Klamath River Fishing Report 07.02.12

The fishing on the Klamath is just getting started and will be improving throughout the next several months. Spring salmon are now in the system along with some nice steelhead. I look for things to improve on a daily basis from here on out. Our ocean fishing has been outstanding with limits of salmon for all in a short period of time. Those fish will be headed for the river soon and things should improve fishing wise shortly there after. Book your trips early. It's should be a GREAT sea...

Smith River Fishing Report 03.02.11

The fishing on the North Coast has been holding steady for Winter Steelhead. All of the rivers are currently producing fish but we do have a warm weather system approaching that could potentially blow everything out with the rain and snow melt in the forecast. Our season for steelhead is beginning to winb down with March 31 being the end to most of our rivers fishing opportunities. So get your fishing in while you can for these magnificient chrome beauties we call steehead.    ...

Smith River Fishing Report 12.20.10

The North Coast rivers are starting to see there first shots at winter steelhead enter there systems. There are presently good fishable numbers of steelhead in all of our river systems. From now through March winter steelhead will be the target of many fishermen and women throughout. If you like fishing for these silver bullets get out there and do it. If you are looking for a guided trip, give me a call or e-mail me and I will get you set up. It's going to be a great season so get out and hav...

Klamath River Fishing Report 10.05.10

The fishing on the Klamath has been fair all season long with a few highlights in the mix. Right now, the fishing is fairly slow but we are seeing a good grade of fish. You just are really having to work for them. I look for things to remain the same for the remainder of the season. With the ocean not wanting to lay down and the mouth of the river being partially sanded in, the fish are having a hard time entering the system. If the ocean were to calm a bit, I think we would see a good number...

Klamath River Fishing Report 08.04.10

The fishing is starting to improve on the Klamath. With every tide new fish seem to be coming in. Both salmon and steelhead are on the menu. The fish have been very bright and full of fight. There is quite a bit of moss in the river at this time which is making it a bit tough to get your bait to the fish before it is covered in moss. Hopefully it subsides soon. Look for the fishing to only improve with each tide from here on out. Good Fishing, Alan

Klamath River Fishing Report 06.21.10

The Klamath was good up until the weekend. Lots of pressure from the Father's Day weekend has put the fish off the bite. I look for the bite to improve as the crowds get smaller after the weekend. The river is dropping nicely and we shopuld start to see some good steelhead fishing soon. Good Fishing, Alan

Klamath River Fishing Report 06.09.10

The river is just starting to drop back into a fishable level. Yesterday, I heard of one fish being caught, which at the level and color of the river is good. I expect that by the weekend, the fishing should pick back up considerably. The water will clear up a bit and the level will be dropping. Now if we can just get the weather to cooperate, fishing should remain good throughout the summer. Book your trips now for the best dates. It's going to be a great season. FISH ON, Alan

Klamath River Fishing Report 05.27.10

The fishing has continued to improve over the last week. Better tides and more fish coming into the system means more opportunity for the anglers. It's still raining around here but the rivers have stabilized and the fishing has improved. Fisherman have been averaging 2-5 hook-ups per day and the fish have been running around 15 pounds. A nice grade of fish. The best eating of the year. So get out there and hook a few of your own. FISH ON, Alan

Klamath River Fishing Report 05.05.10

At the present time, the Klamath is running a bit on the high side from the recent rains and snow melt run off. As it begins to come down to a fishable level, we will start to see the first influx of Spring run Chinook. It may take a few weeks before that happens. We've had a lot of rain and snow the past month but when it does the fishing should be good. Good Fishing, Alan

Eel River Fishing Report 03.23.10

The season is winding down. With only 8 days left on the calender for most river systems to remain open for winter steelhead fishing, you had better get out there. The fishing on the Eel river system has been good. Lots of downers and also a few fresh fish in the mix. It has been a good season on the entire North Coast for winter steelhead. So if you have a chance and feel the urge, get out there and hook a few before the time runs out. Alan...

Chetco River Fishing Report 03.09.10

The Chetco has been fishing pretty well over the last week or so. Fresh fish as well as some runbacks are being caught. The water is starting to get low and clear which makes things tougher all around but there's rain on the way which should spark another bite. I look for the fishing to continue to produce for the next couple of weeks until it closes on the 31st of March. Good Fishing, Alan...

Smith River Fishing Report 02.25.10

The Smith has fished well for a few days but today was a tough day. The bite was slow and there were not a lot of fish caught today. There is a storm coming in tonight and should change the whole game plan for the next few days. There has been some really nice fresh fish coming in everyday. I look for things to continue to fish well for at least another few weeks. Good Luck, Alan...

Klamath River Fishing Report 10.20.09

The weather that passed through over the last few days has pushed a bunch of fish upriver and sparked a group of new fish to enter the river. This time of year tends to slow a bit but there still seems to be a descent number of fish in the system. Less people around and a few fish too boot. This to me is a nice combination. Klamath River Fishing Report 10.01.09

Klamath River Report The fishing is starting to slow just a bit but there are some really nice fish still around to be caught. The traffic has slowed tremendously and that has really helped to be able to have a spot or two to yourself. I look for fishing to remain about the same for the next 10 ten days or so. Klamath River Fishing Report 09.11.09

Klamath River Report The fishing has improved over the last couple of days. The quality of fish is really good. We are getting fish in the 15-20 pound range quite frequently. The only bad thing is that this also brings lots of pressure from other anglers. There are a lot of boats on the river right now and it is making things tougher but we are still catching some great fish and having a good timed doing it. Klamath River Fishing Report Well the water came up with the rise in the river from the Trinity release and the fishing has taken off with it. There has been a real influx of fish the last couple of days. The bite should continue with the drop in water temps. These fish have been ranging from 8-15 pounds and just chrome bright out of the ocean. Book your trip now and come have some fun. Klamath River Fishing Report 08.20.09

Klamath River Report The fishing for the last few days has been good in the mornings but the afternoon has been a struggle for a few biters. The fish have been averaging 3-8 pounds and has been a mix of salmon and steelhead.  If the weather would cooperate, the fishing would get better with each day.  Let's hope that happens soon. The fish are arriving with each tide but the temps are so high that the fish just don't want to bite well. Look for fishing to improve with a change...

Klamath River Fishing Report 08.11.09

Klamath River Fishing Report / Alan's Guide Service Fishing over the last week has improved dramatically.  The cool weather and the drop in water temps. have sparked a run of fish to enter the Klamath.  We have been hooking between 5-15 fish per day.  Lot's of half pounders and some very nice adult steelhead in the 5-8 pound class. Salmon wise, the mouth is still producing the best with a few being caught upriver. From here on out the fishing should improve so if you are i...

Trinity River Fishing Report 07.28.09

Klamath/Trinity Rivers Report Fishing is starting to improve on the Klamath down in the estuary.  On the good tides the fishing has been consistently fair to good for both salmon and steelhead.  Boats have been averaging 2-5 hookups per outing. Upriver has been a different story. The water is so warm and mossy it is hard to get the fish that are there to bite.  If only the inland temperatures would begin to drop, things would improve dramatically in a short amount of time....

Klamath/Trinity rivers Report Both rivers are suffering from warm inland temperatures right now and the fishing is also following in the same direction. Over on the Trinity, the fishing remains tough with a few salmon being caught early and late in the day. The Klamath on the other hand has actually been fair considering the circumstances. Down at the mouth there has been a good push of salmon on some days and slow on others which is pretty normal for this time of year. Upriver, if it...

Klamath/Trinity Report: The fishing on the Klamath has a slowed a bit. The bite has been off from what it was a week ago. I think it has a lot to do with the drop in flows and the water warming up. The fish are still in the system but are hunkering down trying to get a breath of air out of the warm water. Early morning and just before dark a...
